Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Audiologist is responsible for hearing evaluations for all ages, fittings, follow-up care, as well as counseling and educating patients to find the best solution to treat their hearing loss.
Main Job Functions:
· Provides excellent customer service and maintains good public relations
· Conduct diagnostic comprehensive hearing evaluations
· Executes a treatment plan through excellent counseling and education
· Recommend and fit proper hearing devices based on patient’s needs
· Fit Bone anchored hearing device, trials and follow-up appointments
· Cochlear implant experience helpful but not required
· Assist in clinical administrative functions including phone calls, documentation, reporting, etc.
· May also be involved in marketing and public outreach, including community events, lunch and learns, health fairs, senior living events, and other duties as assigned
· Maintain confidentiality of all business and patient information
· Adhere to company policies and procedures
You will need:
· Education: Masters or Doctorate in Audiology and in good standing
· Active CO dispensing license or eligible for licensure
· Strong leadership, communication, and sales skills
· Desire to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team of professionals
· Self-starter, team player, positive energy
· Problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
