Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     SUMMARY:
    Responsible for evaluating, planning, and treatment for patients referred to the service. Provides group and/or individual treatment to patients with a variety of diagnoses and presenting symptoms.
    SOME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
    • Demonstrates excellence in written communication/documentation that is accurate, complete, timely, legible, and consistent with department documentation policies and regulatory agencies.
    • Collects/interprets diagnostic data and its clinical relevance when making assessments, while considering current presentation and past medical/clinical history.
    • Performs patient assessment, development of treatment plans, and patient specific goals.
    • Initiates patient care activities in reasonable/timely manner and strictly adheres to department guidelines regarding a patient’s treatment schedule.
    • Ensures patient charges are accurately captured and submitted within 24 hours of treatment.
    • Completes annual competencies as appropriate to position including age specific competencies.
    • Completes program specialist competency/checklist of expectations, as appropriate to current position. (In-Patient only)
    • Demonstrates willingness and competency to be cross-trained as appropriate to credentials, licensure, and scope of practice and department need.
    • Assists with orientation of new staff and/or students.
    EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
    Completion of a Master’s Program from an accredited school of Audiology.
    Minimum of one clinical rotation in a Rehabilitation Services setting (e.g., Acute Rehab, SNF, Acute Medical, Outpatient, Home Health).
    Current Ohio license and must hold certificate of Clinical Competence.
    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    Position is located east of Columbus.
    The person will report to a great manager who is very kind and personable.
    Position is full time, Monday-Friday.
    The facility is offering a range between $30hr-$41.50hr depending on experience and offer and offers a full benefit package and a sign on bonus.
