Audiologist administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, and speech reception and discrimination tests, to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Being an Audiologist may require Doctor of Audiology (Au. D.) in some states. Additionally, Audiologist requires a master's degree of Audiology. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A). Requires applicable state license. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Qualifications
Responsibilities
· Diagnostic testing for adults and pediatrics; including immittance testing, comprehensive hearing evaluations, OAEs, VRA, CPA
· Analyze test results and provide evidence based recommendations
· Evaluation, consultation, fitting, and follow-up for cochlear and osseointegrated implants
· Collaborate with a variety of health professionals
· Perform documentation and billing responsibilities in a timely manner
