Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.   • Hear Carolina an independent private audiology practice nestled in southern North Carolina, has an opening for an Audiologist at their Aberdeen, NC, location.

    The Audiologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive audiological evaluations, performing specialized tests, and creating treatment plans for adult patients while taking full responsibility for the complete patient journey.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations, including pure-tone and speech audiometry, impedance testing, and auditory brainstem response testing, for adult patients
    • Interpret test results and recommend appropriate treatment and management of hearing and balance disorders, including Cochlear Implants and Tinnitus management.
    • Fit and program hearing aids and other assistive listening devices for adult patients, including programming and mapping of Cochlear Implants.
    • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advances in audiology.



    Requirements

    • Master’s degree and/or Doctorate in Audiology
    • Audiology License in North Carolina (or ability to obtain license)
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize and handle a full schedule of patients
    • Ability to work independently
