Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Summary
Performs clinical diagnostic audiologic evaluations including VRA, BOA, play audiometry, ABR, OAE and Central Auditory Processing testing to evaluate hearing status. Generates formal report on audiologic findings including recommendations. interacts with family, other professional staff and outside referral sources in the provision of audiologic services. follows hospital wide policies. |

Ability to interface effectively with patients and families, and provide interdisciplinary collaboration.
