Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Summary:
Vighter LLCis recruiting an Audiologist who will complete comprehensive hearing evaluations on all scheduled residents who arrive on the designated day of testing. Comprehensive evaluations include but are not limited to admittance testing, behavioral observation audiometry, visual reinforcement audiometry, pure-tone audiometry, hearing screening, word recognition testing, and speech awareness testing. The Contractor will provide appropriate recommendations regarding continued care which includes the procurement of hearing aids or other listening devices, follow-up with Ear Nose and Throat as necessary and routine hearing evaluations. The Contractor will complete a comprehensive report for each resident detailing case history, test results, and recommendations in a timely manner. The Contractor will complete any additional tasks necessary to ensure adequate continued audiological health care of residents. Knowledge or experience working with individuals with severe mental illness is preferred.
