Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     • Out-patient (Monday – Friday); per diem

    LOCATION:

    • Springfield Metro Area
    • 360 Birnie Avenue, Springfield, MA

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Master’s degree in Audiology (Doctorate preferred)
    • Massachusetts Audiologist Licensure
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
    • American Heart Association BLS CPR
    • Experience with cochlear implants and ABR testing a plus.

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

    • BAYSTATE AUDIOLOGISTS PERFORM AN IMPORTANT ROLE to identify, evaluate, treat and follow-up with clients of all ages, on an outpatient and contract basis diversifying your cases. Demonstrate developmental stages for the following age groups (infant/child, adolescence, adult, and geriatrics) and apply developmental theories and concepts when planning and implementing care for patients as appropriate. Counsel clients, families, and others with compassion in relation to understanding and assisting in the identification and treatment of hearing impairment.
