Auditing Manager executes a comprehensive enterprise-wide internal auditing strategy, function, and practice adhering to auditing standards and regulatory requirements. Uses auditing governance frameworks and procedures to plan and manage the auditing schedules, projects, teams, and tasks required to meet defined objectives. Being an Auditing Manager engages with other functions across the enterprise, like risk, finance, information technology, and security, to facilitate audits. Prepares audit reports and recommends enhanced controls or processes as needed. Additionally, Auditing Manager builds auditing teams and expertise with coaching and developmental initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). May sometimes require Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Typically reports to a director. The Auditing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Specific Functions and Duties:
1. Manages Restaurant Environment
A. Ensures prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines.
B. Directs overall activities and performance of associates on a shift by shift basis.
C. Breeds a culture using the
Apple Gilroy Mission Statement to guide Teamwork, Results, Integrity, Passion for Service, Fun, Innovation and being Guest Driven.
D. Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff. Refers all verbal and written guest complaints to GM.
E. Ensures guest contact as a priority with self, utilizing a target goal of 100% table visitation.
F. Enforces alcohol awareness on a shift to shift basis.
G. Maintains adequate departmental inventory levels.
H. Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards.
I. Effectively schedules associates to meet sales demands.
J. Maintains effective safety and security programs according to company policy and government standards.
K. Corrects unsafe practices or conditions.
L. Promotes and manages restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
M. Performs routine maintenance and immediately informs General Manager of needed repairs.
N. Advises GM of any non routine situations.
O. Communicates with other managers daily through management log and shift change meetings.
P. Completes all other assigned duties and responsibilities.
2. Manages Associate Performance
A. Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential management candidates.
B. Promotes A.I.I. training procedures of new managers.
C. Helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, asssociate meetings and implementation of company policy.
D. Determines job assignments on a shift by shift basis.
E. Develops an environment of constant development of associates, including informal shift reviews and participates in the development of written evaluations every six months.
F. Assesses the effectiveness of associates, provides candid, fair feedback on a regular basis, and continuously works with associates on their areas of development.
A. Conducts thorough Selecting Service Performers interviews.
G. Demonstrates proper execution of training systems as outlined by the company while emphasizing the importance of training to associates.
H. Monitors acceptable associate performance and documents situations that require or could lead to disciplinary or corrective action. Monitors and manages discipline when appropriate.
I. Assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
J. Acts as coach to all associates.
3. Maintain Controls.
A. Responsible to control cost in assigned department.
B. Maintains and controls the assets of the company.
C. Assures the compliance with the local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
D. Reports progress towards achieving restaurant performance objectives at management meetings.
E. Complies with all cash handling procedures.
F. Executes weekly food and liquor inventories/costs at the GM’s request and is accountable for completion.
G. Responsible for preparing and submitting of accurate daily paperwork to the GM.
4. Development
A. Is responsible to the GM for the development of Assistant Managers, Kitchen Professionals and Key Hourly Associates.
B. Inspires cooperation and teamwork from associates by breeding a culture derived from Apple Gilroy, Inc. Mission Statement. Is guest focused and promotes the team to be.
C. Demonstrates organizational skills.
D. Completes all assignments and duties properly and on schedule.
E. Develops goals and action plans for personal/professional growth.
F. Provides a role model for managers and associates.
G. Exhibits a professional image.
H. Develops self on all store related technology.
Prior management experience in a similar organization. Preferably a college graduate with a two or four year degree in Hotel/Restaurant, Management, Business or associated field, who is entering the full time work force or has successfully demonstrated leadership abilities and business acumen in role of assistant manager. Will successfully need to demonstrate all required training associated with Applebee’s management training program, ongoing development as outlined by the General Manager
