Auditing Project Lead leads a group of auditors who identify risk, assess performance, prepare financial reports in various complex auditing projects.     The Principle Project Engineering Lead applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.

    This role is specific to the Electronics Systems Integration Team (ESI) responsible for developing the electro-mechanical actuation systems that drive the premium class seats and suites to create a uniquely comfortable and memorable customer experience. The project engineer oversees the design, development, integration and certification of the electro-mechanical components and electrical harnessing making up the actuation system. Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.

    This is an Onsite position, relocation is available for qualified candidates.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Provides leadership for all phases of projects from inception through completion. Coordinates the preparation of proposals for cost, schedule, resources, requirements, and risks. Creates all project management plans for project execution. Leads Integrated Project Development Team (IPDT). Monitor and control project task completions for schedule and cost adherence. Prepares reports as needed for project status. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Represents the project team as the primary customer point of contact. Provides guidance to the project team members for their respective technical, manufacturing, and administrative responsibilities.

    Project Leadership Responsibilities:

    • Projects meet cost and schedule objectives as measured by SPI/CPI/OTD metrics
    • Baseline spend plans and changes follow established approval processes
    • Project metrics accurately created every month in accordance with the established deadlines
    • Project forecasts accurately account for actual and accrued costs, and partially completed and future task costs
    • Project resource demand is maintained in the DAPTIV Resource Planning tool per the established cadence
    • CMS meetings (Gate 4 and 5, Technical Reviews) result in Go / Go-with-actions
    • Effectively communicates project requirements, risks, needs, and status up, down, and across the organization
    • Consistently speaks up with identification of risks and opportunities for project and/or event success.
    • Proactively seeks to lead in both large and small meetings, and with other verbal communication forums.
    • Produces effective documentation for proposal responses, project deliverables, procedures, and other communications
    • Indirect charge costs are within the defined targets on a monthly and annual basis.

    Technical Leadership Responsibilities:

    • Develop/Strengthens Subject Matter Expert level knowledge in one or more project management processes and tools.
    • Proactively engages in mentoring opportunities with other Engineering Project Leaders in their SME areas.
    • Attains/maintains CORE Champion certification.
    • Routinely identifies continuous improvement opportunities and leads/supports realization of these opportunities.

    Qualifications/Experience Required:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working in the aerospace industry.
    • Experience with RTCA DO-160 Electrical Component Certification
    • Experience with RTCA-DO178 Software Component Certification
    • Experience working with CAD Software
    • Project Management experience
    • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements
    • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA)
    • Experience with Top Down Design methodology
    • Experience with aircraft seating primary structures (frames)

    The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
