Automobile Estimator jobs in Abilene, TX

Position Summary:

The Estimator prepares and provides accurate estimates for railcars by information gathered by the Car Inspector during his/her walk around inspection. This information along with photos is reviewed and data inputted into a Railcar RX database. Once data entered, the estimate is sent via email or customer data base and an approval is requested.

Responsibilities:

• · Understand Customer, AAR/FRA Requirements for estimating.
• · Create and submit estimates
• · Perform follow ups on approvals
• · Create work orders for shop
• · Build relationships with customer
• · Scan NDT forms and submit to customer
• · Prepare estimates for invoicing

Requirements:

• · Familiarity with financial and project management principles
• · In depth knowledge of the AAR Field Manual & M1002 Section C-III Specs For Tank

Cars

• · IT and Math ability with an analytical mindset
• · Proficient in relevant software

Qualities:

• · Communication and negotiation abilities
• · Thoroughness and reliability
• · Excellent organizational skills

Experience and Education:

• · High School Diploma or GED
• · 3-5 years’ experience as an estimator or similar position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
