As an Estimator at Palmetto Corp of Conway, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for asphalt and sitework projects. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, possess proficiency in software tools such as Bid to Win, AGTEK, and Excel, and have a solid understanding of SCDOT specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to determine the scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt and sitework projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Collaborate with the project management and operations teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Review bid documents and contracts to identify potential discrepancies or issues.
• Evaluate project risks and opportunities to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and regulations to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
• Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor proposals.
• Prepare and submit completed bids in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all estimates adhere to company policies and industry standards.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as necessary.
• Perform additional tasks and assignments as necessary to meet deadlines or at management’s discretion.
