Job Description

The Manufacturing Estimator will create quotes for machined parts and assemblies for OMW’s customers. This job is on-site at OMW’s facility in Novato, CA.  OMW’s Manufacturing Estimator needs excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Manufacturing Estimator must be thorough and observant with an eye for detail. The Manufacturing Estimator must fully understand the requirements of the part being quoted and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers. The goal is to preserve our reputation by ensuring that we deliver good products on time to drive sustainable growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collects and reviews requests for quotes from various customers.
• Creates quote strategies to determine material size, material type, outside processing requirements, and job complexity.
• Communicates with customers to ensure requirements are understood and can be me, requesting clarifications as needed.
• Communicates with internal production and quality teams to determine manufacturing times, assembly times, special tooling requirements, etc.
• Communicates with suppliers to collect outside costs, such as material, hardware, and outside processing.
• Inputs quote information into OMW’s quoting platform (Paperless Parts).
• Prepares quote packages for management review and submission to customers.
• Meets strict deadlines for each quote.
• Follows up to ensure customers receive quotes and requests feedback as to competitiveness.
• Maintain a safe and LEAN work environment, including performing housekeeping duties.
• Maintains and promotes a safe and clean working environment.
• Meets attendance and punctuality standards.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Estimator experience is required.
• Strong organizational skills are a must.
• Proficient in the use of measurement tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, especially through email and interpersonal communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good problem solving and prioritizing skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow both writing and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience working with ERP systems is a plus

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Compensation based on experience.
