ABOUT THE JOB: Instructors work with teens and adults of all ages. Typically instructors take a vehicle home each night. Your paid training will ensure that you have the insight and knowledge to pinpoint students' driving weaknesses, to use effective techniques to improve skills rapidly, and to provide our clients with a great experience. Since we pay for all travel and you take a vehicle home, your paid workday starts and ends in your driveway, picking up students at their homes. Each student gets a 2-hour lesson, and you will typically teach 3 lessons per day. Due to paid travel time and other considerations you will be paid approximately 7.75 hours per workday. We cover all expenses to become a fully licensed Driving Instructor.

BUSY SEASON HOURS WITH OVERTIME: In summer months and the months to follow, you may be assigned four lessons per day and may work additional days. Such a workday averages 10.25 hours, which means 2.25 hours at an overtime rate.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: All new hires will be trained to our standard even if they already have an instructor license. For this reason, we commonly hire from outside the industry. We require:

• Ability to work professionally with drivers of all ages and personality types.
• Friendliness, patience and a sense of humor.
• A brief medical exam.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• A written test will be required for licensing.
• Must either live within our service area, or pick up a car from Sacramento.
• Ideally, a background in driving. . . This may include experience in law enforcement, employment by the DMV, employer-sponsored defensive driving training, or driving large vehicles.
