Job Description and DutiesUnder the general direction of the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, CF, the Automotive Mechanic will perform skilled work in the adjustment, servicing, and repair of automotive equipment; to maintain order and supervise the conduct of inmates, wards, residents, or patients; to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property; may instruct, lead or supervise inmates, wards or resident workers; and to do other related work.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
