Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Burns & McDonnell is looking for an energetic person with a high level of initiative to market and manage design projects focused on federal facilities for the Department of Energy (DOE).

    At Burns & McDonnell, our Project Managers are seller-doers who develop and maintain client relationships and have responsibility for coordinating and leading project teams to deliver quality projects that make our clients successful. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in DOE facility project designs.

    This Project Manager will be responsible for the successful completion of larger and smaller value projects as part of an annual portfolio of projects. Additionally, this Project Manager will:

    • Plan, coordinate, communicate and facilitate activities of several disciplines on multiple design projects from concept through completion.

    • Manage project personnel and technical interfaces during the design phase and coordinate construction support activities.

    • Collaborate with Construction Managers to deliver design-build project.

    • Work to grow relationships and market share in their areas of expertise

    • Develop and maintain client and partner relationships through building trust and providing high levels of service

    • Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and partners

    • Manage project delivery, including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, meeting budget objectives, communicating and meeting deadlines

    • Promote safe work environments

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field from an accredited institution

    • Minimum 7 to 20 years related design experience

    • Customer-focused with good relationship-building and conflict resolution skills

    • Ability to make thoughtful, informative and persuasive presentations to clients

    • Ability to represent Burns & McDonnell in a professional, competent manner

    • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE or DoD Security Clearance.
