Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations.     Description: 

    Under the direction of the COO, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for development and delivery of aircraft technologies, organizational development and manage certification process to support the organization's goals and objectives, first and foremost of which is to exceed customer expectations. Duties include the direct contribution for the development of propriety technologies in aircraft design in both hardware and software. The Engineering Manager will build and lead the company's Technical Roadmap and manage technical partnerships and therefore will play a critical role in the mission of the company. As the Engineering Manager, you and your team will be responsible for developing the company's core technology which will have a significant impact in the aerospace industry.

    Examples of Essential Job Functions:

    • Manage and oversee the Engineering and Certification teams
    • Develop and implement effective certification strategies to ensure timely delivery of STC’s and services that meet best in class objectives
    • Leads teams supporting current design and development or on legacy/sustaining product support for electrical wiring interconnect systems (EWIS) and related components used in aviation, space, industrial, and military applications
    • Evolve and continue to mature the organization, including all engineering, product delivery, operations, system management and certification
    • Manages teams that provide, or directly provides, technical support to customers, suppliers, internal manufacturing engineers, and internal sales and marketing teams. This includes responsibilities for new and existing projects, assessing non-recurring cost estimates (NRE) and managing project scope changes, developing engineering-specific activity schedules, developing engineering standards, and reviewing/approving technical documents/deliverables.
    • Manages teams that provide, or directly leads, technical reviews with internal and external stakeholders
    • Recruit top talent to join the company and ensure a strong, competent workforce. 
    • Continuously assess and improve engineering processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction 
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of products and services 
    • Conduct needs assessments to identify areas for training and development 
    • Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure programs align with company goals and objectives
    • Manage the P&L for the engineering department and be accountable for departmental financial performance
    • Other duties as assigned not specifically stated herein.

    Qualifications

    • BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar engineering field from an accredited institution. Additionally, the minimum level of education notated as a requirement could be supplemented by commensurate experience and/or certification(s) or license(s) as determined by the hiring manager.
    • Minimum 7 years of commercial aerospace engineering experience required
    • Minimum 3 years of engineering management experience required
    • Familiar with 14 CFR Part 23/25 regulations and their associated means of compliance
    • Experience in a fast-paced design environment
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills

    • Design knowledge of interconnect components (connectors, backshells/accessories, wiring assemblies) for aviation, aerospace, and industrial markets
    • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to customers
    • Ability to communicate in an assertive yet professional, motivating and tactful manner
    • Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing with strong negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
    • Strong time-management and organizational skills
    • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
    • Must be able to travel if/as required
