Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Aviation Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
    • PE License required
    • 6 years' experience in the airport design and/or construction field, either in private industry or government service
    • Airport design and project management experience a must
    • Aviation engineering & construction administration experience required
    • Strong knowledge of FAA advisory circulars related to airport design and the FAA grant process
    • Strong computer skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to lead and mentor existing staff and develop new staff as needed to support growth of the aviation group
    • Self-motivated, team-oriented individual with the ability to work on challenging projects in a team environment

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a vehicle
    • Ability to travel for site visits, client meetings, etc.
