Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Aviation Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Responsibilities:
- Build/maintain Aviation and Transportation client relationships
- Coordinate meetings with clients, local officials, contractors and the public
- Project management duties including contracting, cost estimates and client invoicing primarily on Wisconsin airports and FAA projects
- Assist with marketing duties including proposal development, project interviews, and attendance at the Annual Wisconsin Aviation Conference
- Assist with project design, permitting and technical reports
- Serve as resident engineer and manage construction projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 5 years of Civil Engineering experience with a focus on transportation/aviation
- PE License
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D preferred
- Knowledge of FAA and Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics procedures preferred
- Project management and business development experience
- Experience in construction management oversight as a project leader/resident engineer preferred
Salary is commensurate with experience.
