Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.   • Job Description:
    The General Manager oversees all aspects of the FBO including customer relations, line operations, accounting, health, safety and environmental functions. Plans, directs and coordinates activities for the sale and provision of general aviation support services such as fuel, hangar and office rental, and P&L responsibility for a base location. Manages and directs activities of subordinate supervisors and employees at the location. The General Manager will promote a positive team environment to better serve our customers.


    Responsibilities:
    • Develop understanding of the market for the FBO including sales and growth opportunities.
    • Conduct ongoing analysis of competition to include selling points, product offerings and pricing.
    • Remain locally competitive by maintaining close contact with market conditions
    • Creates new opportunities by developing relationships with customers, tenants, the airport authority, local government and the local community.
    • Establish a culture that promotes safety and quality control through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, monthly safety meetings, training and documented safety procedures.
    • Formulate and abide by procedures for use in event of aircraft accidents, fires or other emergencies.
    • Establish a culture that promotes customer loyalty by creating an environment of increased employee engagement
    • Regularly interact with customers and tenants to promote the FBO and the level of customer satisfaction.
    • Receive and use customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
    • Manage Operations, including ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained based on daily/weekly/monthly volumes
    • Develop new business plans with capital requirements and anticipated performance.
    • Prepare the FBO budget with insight for the capability of and opportunities for the FBO
    • Responsible for financial management of base including capital expenditures, forecasting, budgeting, audit performance and expense management.
    • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
    • Perform leadership functions such as conducting annual reviews, making hiring decisions, and managing performance of direct reports, which includes mentoring, and skill development.
    • Ensure employees receive company communications and necessary training including safety, customer service standards, Company values, etc.
    • Ensure training and development of employees to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.
    • Develop and maintain good relations with the Airport and local government authorities
    • Develop and maintain good relations with the local community
    • Develop and maintain good relations with tenants & customers
    • Responsible for developing and promoting sales and marketing initiatives for the FBO and real-estate operations
    • Other responsibilities as requested or assigned

    Position Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Aviation Management or related field
    • Eight (8) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training with at least three (3) years related general aviation management experience
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills
    • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced operational environment
    • Knowledge of operational Corporate policies and procedures
    • Analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership and service-oriented performance
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate personnel
    • Operational decision-making
    • Strong Interpersonal and Communicational skills, balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levels
    • Must be able to read, write, and understand the English Language
    • Bi-lingual ability preferred, but NOT required (Spanish, Portuguese and French)
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and web based applications
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Must be able to pass airport security background check
