    Job Summary:

    The Architectural Manager is an experienced licensed Architect responsible for leading and overseeing the quality of service and deliverables provided by the architectural team. The successful candidate provides leadership, technical guidance and expertise, and overall direction to team members. This position leads the team to ensure projects are completed on-time, at or underbudget, are aligned with contract requirements and meet FSB’s quality standards. In addition, the Architectural Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing the implementation of tools, standards, and processes within the Aviation Studio.

    During a project lifecycle, the Architectural Manager oversees all project phases including Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration. In addition, they work with Project Designers and the assigned Project Manager to ensure the FSB architectural deliverables align with client expectations.

    Team Responsibilities:

    • Oversees a team of architects and design team members across multiple projects.
    • Schedules and distributes project team assignments.
    • Project responsibility related to the preparation and development of contract documents within assigned team.
    • Contribute to initial and revised time estimates for projects. Reinforces the need for, preparation of and reviews and maintenance of project execution plans.
    • Regularly communicates with Project Managers working with assigned team, alerting them of possible problems, conflicts, and opportunities to improve the project.
    • Demonstrates a highly organized and systematic approach to producing a project; understands the necessity to keep the team and project tasks list updated and complete.
    • Implements and improves standards, procedures, or processes related to production.
    • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the team and firm.
    • Follow through on personal and team goals; helps overcome team and project challenges and obstacles.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Provides employee development for assigned team in alignment with the firm's career paths and development programs.
    • Performs employee evaluations and ongoing performance feedback and coaching.
    • Understands and demonstrates the need for open and direct communication, both verbally and in writing; ensure that team communications are consistent, thorough, and timely.
    • Regularly review sets of deliverables for coordination, accuracy, efficiency, thoroughness, and completeness in accordance with submission and contract requirements.
    • Takes initiative to make positive change; assists the team to consistently produce quality projects.

    Required Skills:

    • Communication skills to effectively present directly to clients, subconsultants, authorities having jurisdiction, and others as needed on technical and design solutions.
    • Ability to interpret, organize, and coordinate resource assignments.
    • Ability to research technical challenges that arrive on team projects, including constructability.
    • Communication skills to effectively collaborate with Project Managers, other architects/architectural staff, and consultants.
    • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage service level expectations across internal teams and clients.
    • Ability to evaluate current processes and make recommendations or develop solutions to increase quality and efficiency.
    • Proficient in a variety of AEC BIM tools, such as Revit, Bluebeam, Unify, Clarity and others that maximize the effectiveness of team deliverables.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
    • Proficient in product options, performance, selections, and in writing technical Specifications.
    • Assists and provides Independent Technical Reviews meeting the FSB Quality Control process.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s and/or Master of Architecture.
    • Licensed Architect.
    • Minimum of 10 years experience on a variety of project types. Fifteen years preferred.
