Bakery Clerk jobs in Akron, OH

Welcome to Ocelot. We're a cafe & bakery offering a menu of scratch-made pastries and lunch. This position is for someone who ideally has previous experience in a kitchen or bakery, though bakery experience is preferred. You will begin with a paid training period while learning to make our various sweet and savory doughs, cakes, cookies, breads, and miscellaneous items. All BOH workers are expected to maintain a clean kitchen, keep pace, communicate, and assist with end of day closing duties.

Job Requirements:

• 18 // Use of Commercial Ovens, Dough Sheeter, Deli Slicers, Knives, etc.
• Previous Kitchen or Bakery experience required. Bakery experience preferred.
• Part Time Availability: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
• 20-25hrs/week
• Weekday Shift: 6:30am - 2:30pm
• Saturday Shift: 7:30am - 1:30pm
• Sundays Off
• Paid training period [est. 2-3 weeks] starting at $13.50/hr | After training period, pay will jump to starting rate, $15.00. Potential for increase based on skill level.

Job Notes:

• Assist morning bakers with shop opening procedures.
• Preparing lunch sandwiches daily; learning to make various cold salads. Slicing deli meats & cheeses for lunch sandwiches.
• Preparing and producing baked goods at scale; Learning how to make various pastry & bread doughs, scones, muffins, cakes, miscellaneous baked goods to shop standards.
• Ability to follow in-house recipes, using a scale to pre-measure all ingredients.
• Ability to keep pace when given a daily to-do list. Expectation to finish daily lists when training period is over.
• Maintains cleanliness in kitchen throughout the work day; dishes included.
• Practices food safety techniques.
• Is a team player; communicates & uses proper kitchen terminology.
