Bakery Manager oversees operations and staffing for the bakery department within a grocery store. Manages pastry making and baking, suggests changes to inventory and pricing, and purchases supplies when needed. Being a Bakery Manager monitors quality of goods and service. Position Summary:
The Bakery clerk is responsible for assisting customers of Niagara Produce by providing goods and services from the bakery department. Bakery is also responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers in their shopping experience by providing recommendations to customers, maintaining a friendly demeanor, and assisting in other bakery related areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
· Prepare a variety of foods, such as but not limited to pastries, Danishes, cookies, pies brownies, fresh rolls, fresh bread etc. according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
· Ice and cut various foods, such as cookies, pastries, pies, breads and brownies.
· Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware.
· Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
· Receive and store food supplies, freezer, refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
· Stock shelves with fresh goods.
· Check dates on perishable items and move older goods to the front or reduce price with permission from supervisor.
· Follow opening and closing procedures.
· Abide by all health & safety regulations including wearing gloves and hair net when appropriate; carefully handling sharp objects.
· Perform any other duty as requested by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills.
· Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
· Organizational skills.
· Ability to be flexible with job duties; comfortable with change.
· Basic math skills
. Bakery experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Standing for prolonged periods of time.
· Ability to take products off of pallets to place in proper storage areas.
· Ability to lift up to 25lbs, occasionally up to 50lbs.
