LOAN PROCESSING MANAGER

  • OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

    Oversees both the Consumer and Real Estate Loan Processing departments and is responsible for managing the loan processing operations for both departments. This role requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of lending processes including loan document creation, loan funding and ensuring lien filing documentation has been collected. This role also requires the ability to drive operational excellence across multiple teams. The Loan Processing Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant processing of loans contributing to the success of Retail Lending and the organization.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leads and manages two loan processing departments, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and adherence to quality standards.
    • Conducts performance evaluations, sets goals, and provides regular feedback to team members in both departments to drive continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability and a customer-centric approach across departments.
    • Monitors loan processing metrics, analyzes performance data and implements strategies to improve efficiency, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction.
    • Ensures both departments are in compliance with lending regulations, internal policies and best practices in loan processing activities.
    • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders across departments, fostering collaboration, trust and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline loan processing operations and enhance productivity of both departments.
    • Addresses and resolves compliance issues, implements corrective actions, and coordinates with appropriate stakeholders as necessary.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to motivate employees and elicit production output.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
    • Ability to adjust priorities to meet deadlines.
    • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex (i.e. personnel, transaction or loan problems).
    • Initiative to produce professional, accurate and timely reports.
    • High degree of success in accepting responsibility and accountability for department and personnel achievements and failures.
    • Ability to strategically plan department objectives with levels of senior management.
    • Knowledgeable regarding products, services, and processes within the consumer and indirect lending areas.
    • High level of organizational skills.
    • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor degree in business or related field of study and three years similar financial institution experience or five to seven years credit union or financial industry experience with progressive responsibilities in management.
    • Knowledge of credit unions or banking operations required.
