Bankruptcy Specialist jobs in Hillsboro, OR
Bankruptcy Specialist is responsible for the documentation and filing of loan bankruptcy materials with the appropriate attorneys. Ensures full compliance with loan bankruptcy regulations. Being a Bankruptcy Specialist monitors accounts throughout the loan bankruptcy process and contacts appropriate party when necessary. Verifies the bankruptcy is secured and acquires a copy of the proposed Chapter 13 Plan on all secured accounts. Additionally, Bankruptcy Specialist captures Chapter 7 reaffirmation agreements to management for approval. Distributes account balances and interest rates to the secured and unsecured balances. Stays current with changing state specific bankruptcy laws. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bankruptcy Specialist works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Bankruptcy Specialist typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Responsibilities:- Provides general office support for litigation attorneys including document preparation, case management, transcription, timekeeping, billing, calendar management, and maintaining confidential information.
- Must be comfortable with preparing, editing, and finalizing documents for filing with state and federal courts
- Must be proficient with e-filing in state and federal courts
- Experienced with scheduling, docketing, and calendaring for multiple attorneys Calendars
- Organizes documents and research court files
- Formats briefings, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Corresponds with clients
Requirements:- 3 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant supporting attorneys and paralegals. Bankruptcy experience preferred, and Labor and Employment experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat (or similar), DocuSign, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with iManage or BigHand is a plus.
- Must be proficient with e-filing in Oregon and federal courts
- Computer savvy and high technological skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
