Principal responsibility is to manage event staff & guest expectations efficiently & effectively while providing all guests with an exceptional experience for contracted events at The Madison Event Center and Hotel Covington.
Duties:
· Remain guest focused while performing all assigned duties before, during and after an event
· Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of each guest experience
· Welcome and greet guests upon entering The Madison/Hotel Covington
· Provide information about our food, beverages and other functions and services
· Responsible for all event staff within their room
· Record the times of employees as they clock in & out
· Use the timeline and matrix to organize staff and delegate responsibilities
· Check the bars, coolers & hotboxes for all specialty items pre-event
· Verify ballroom is set according to approved floorplan
· Ensure all decorations are setup according to provided instructions
· Retrieve alcohol for event from liquor room and record consumption
· Responsible for closing out registers and credit card machines each night
· Responsible for checking all employee assignments at the end of their shifts
· Maintain clean and fully stocked prep area, restrooms and ballroom
· Ready and willing to assist other team members with event duties
· Handle tables, chairs, linens, tableware and décor carefully to prevent breakage and loss
· Always follow safe food handling guidelines
· Clean and reset ballroom at the end of every event
· Attend all scheduled employee meetings and provide suggestions for improvement
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Positive and upbeat attitude and work well with all team members
· Must be 20 years of age
· Must be Serv-Safe or T.I.P.S Certified
· Must be able to work unsupervised
· Must be able to work weekends
· Punctual, energetic and motivated personality
· Excellent oral communication and listening skills
· Desire to lead by example and delegate
· Ability to follow directions
· Be willing to work until the job is complete and perform other duties assigned
· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
· Be able to reach, bend, and safely lift and maneuver up to 30 pounds and move up to 100 pounds with assistance
Compensation & Schedule:
· $16 hourly (Part-Time) or $18 hourly (Full-Time)
· Full-Time eligible for benefits package
· Hours will vary depending on events scheduled
· Eligible for annual review and merit
