Job Description
A Pearl Banquet Captain reports directly to the Food & Beverage Director and is responsible for creating leaders and fostering the Pearl culture within the Food & Beverage department for Pearl Hospitality. A Pearl Banquet Captain must ignite the human spirit by creating unrivaled hospitality experiences fueled by fun, enthusiasm and compassion that challenge each person to unlock their own potential.
The Banquet Captain is responsible for the successful operation, organization and timely execution of the banquet functions. The Banquet Captain must ensure that the department is continually balanced, while focusing on providing exceptional customer satisfaction by continually training the banquet team on successful execution of banquets. All hotel operations must be executed at the highest level of professionalism and courtesy. The Banquet Captain must drive results through effective training, coaching, leading, motivating, empowering and following through with all the associates. The Banquet Captain must ensure that our associates and our customers are treated with the utmost respect at all times since they are the key to our success.

● Lead banquet team in serving of guests during banquet functions to ensure positive guest experience
● Check server and house person Banquet Event Orders to ensure that all information is accurate
● Check room set-up to see that BEO directions are completely followed
● Make contact with group representative to explain how they can make contact if needed
● Communicate all BEO changes to Event Manager
● Coordinate with banquet staff set-ups, changes and time schedules for all functions
● Operate as a banquet server, setting-up, greeting and serving the guest and break-down
● Train all personnel to deliver the best product at the highest brand and procedural standards
● Manage guest relations in the most positive and effective manner
● Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve issues to maintain high guest satisfaction
● Ensure that all banquet associates maintain cleanliness of the food stations and function area
● Communicate to banquet staff the menu for each function served and be able to explain ingredients
● Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to proper area
● Recap all banquet checks at end of each day and turn into night audit
● Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
● Ensure approved uniforms are being worn at all times including nametags
● Treat guests, associates, vendors and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times
● Perform other tasks that are deemed necessary to the success of Pearl, the hotel and the associates
Physical Requirements - (not limited to)
● Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs.
● Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crawl, reach above and below shoulders, repetitive arm and wrist use, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.
● Must be able to operate motor vehicles using safety precautions.
● Must be able to recognize, register, and respond visually to color and depth perception.
● Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
● Must be able to work indoor, outdoor, in extreme heat and cold.
● Must be able to work around moderate noise level.
