SUMMARY
The role of the Event Planner is to provide catering planning services for customers including menu planning, décor, event execution, and communicate order details to staff, vendor partners and customers. This position will be responsible for contracting and closing wedding, corporate and social catering business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following description of work to be performed by the Event Planner is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.
Assist all customers to plan their catering needs. Suggest menu ideas and coordinate event logistics prior to the date. Oversee activity on location, as required by customer.
Gather, input, and maintain all customer data in Total Party Planner software.
Answer customer queries in an accurate and timely manner.
Coordinate with outside vendors to implement additional services, as required by customer.
Monitor changes in guest count and adjust all elements as appropriate.
Provide high levels of communication and customer service with internal and external customers.
Ensure compliance with all guidelines provided by the company with regards to menu specifications, pricing, discounting, and any other issues that have been reviewed.
Perform daily bookkeeping duties including processing payments and report sales to accounting.
Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
Closes sales by collecting client deposit and signed contract. Follow contract guidelines regarding collection of deposits prior to final date of event.
Support other members of the Sales Team, stepping in to assist in duties as appropriate
EXPERIENCE
· High School Diploma or GED
· Sales and/or event planning or culinary experience preferred
