Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

• Oversee banquet food preparation for events and functions
• Apply various cooking methods to meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
• Execute prep lists and check lists in a timely manner as outlined by the supervisor.
• Inspect food preparation and service areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
• Excellent memory skills allowing for preparation of many dishes at the same time.
• Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, piercing them with utensils, and through the use of thermometers.
• Prepare and cook menu items in compliance with established recipes and standards
• Manage kitchen operations during banquets
• Coordinate with the dietary department to ensure dietary restrictions are accommodated
• Supervise kitchen staff and delegate tasks effectively
• Maintain inventory of food supplies and equipment
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations

Skills:

• Proficiency in banquet cooking techniques
• Strong understanding of kitchen management principles
• Experience in team management and supervising staff
• Produce a consistent and quality product
• Ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of bartending and food service management is a plus
• Serve Safe Certified or equivalent preferred
