    Reports To: Banquet Manager

    Rate of Pay: Percentage of service charges pool as commission.

    Training wage of $11.00 per hour until proficient.

    Shift: Part Time Year-Round position

    Variable day and evening shifts - Must have flexible schedule Monday through Sunday

    MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS


    SUMMARY

    Work cooperatively with the Banquet Team (including but not limited to Conference Services, Culinary, Housemen, Servers, Supervisors, and Managers) to create a memorable experience for guests by exhibiting remarkable personal skills and providing exceptional service in a professional environment.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Warmly greet each guest.

    Service Guests per contract and/or Banquet Event Order.

    Ensure consistent floor presence to observe and communicate with guests.

    Engage guests professionally to enhance their experience.

    Provide excellent guest service.

    Fulfill guest needs promptly and with a sense of urgency.

    Execute tasks and duties assigned by Supervisor, Manager, or established shift protocols.

    Ensure cleanliness of room before, during, and after service.

    Set buffets and maintain buffet during service.

    Observe guests, respond to any additional requests, and ensure table maintenance throughout service.

    Clear and reset tables and buffets.

    Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee and iced tea, serve drinks, and perform other services as determined by the Banquet Event Order or guest needs.

    Clean kitchen areas: sweep, mop, wash and put away dishes, clean coffee machines, urns and fridges.

    Recycle glass, aluminum, and plastic in accordance with environmental commitment.

    Ensure guests have recycling opportunity in event space.

    Remove trash from venue and place in dumpster.

    Assist Houseman in room set up, food tables, and decorations, as well as breakdowns in relation to guest contract.

    Stock inventory in service areas - teas, coffees, sodas, sugar, linens, paper products, and any other related services.

    Observe and uphold sanitation guidelines.

    Maintain knowledge and compliance of Utah liquor laws when servicing guests, labeling, and storing alcohol.

    Set and run bar in compliance with DABC rules and Sundance Standards.

    Follow safety guidelines for vehicle operation.

    Maintain cleanliness of Banquet vehicles.

    Employee will lift crates, chafers, furniture, AV equipment, decorations, cases of sodas or drinks, linen bags, wine boxes, etc.

    Share the Sundance story of environmental commitment and land preservation with guests as the opportunity arises.

    ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

    Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example: minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wildlife habitats, car-pool with colleagues and coworkers to minimize carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.


    DRESS CODE

    Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. As representatives of Sundance all employees including mangers are expected to be in compliance with the Dress Code determined for his/her department as defined in the job description or follow the standards below.


    In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:


    All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.

    Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.

    Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).

    Black jeans are permitted.

    Shirts must be tucked in.

    Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.

    A tailored fit is required of all clothing.

    Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.

    Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.

    Bare midriffs are prohibited.

    Dress sandals are permitted for females.

    Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.

    No cargo pants or capris

    Uniform shirts provided by manager.

    Black aprons to be worn while on the floor in front of guests.

    Black leather shoes required; sneakers are prohibited while clocked in.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

    Point of sale system proficiency. Able to use 2-way radios for communication to other staff.


    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.

    Must have or obtain a current food handler, and alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
