Banquet Manager plans, directs and coordinates banquets held within the establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules banquet staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Banquet Manager develops and maintains banquet accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Banquet Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Banquet Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. The Inn at Harbor Shores is the premier resort destination in Southwest Michigan. The banquet area at the Inn at Harbor Shores hosts many events such as wedding receptions, cocktail parties, corporate meetings, dinners, and much more.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Set up events with tables/chairs, linens, and tableware
Set up buffet, or serving food to guests
Assist bartender with set up of bar
Tear down and clean up of event space
Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
Banquet servers often act as set up, hostess, food runner, server, and busser as well as occasional bar back.
*Hours vary throughout the season.
*Customer service experience is required.
*Must have basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
*Banquet experience is preferred, but not necessary
*Must be able to work in a team environment.
