Banquet Manager plans, directs and coordinates banquets held within the establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules banquet staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Banquet Manager develops and maintains banquet accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Banquet Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Banquet Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Banquet Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Provides efficient, courteous service to guests.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitors guests’ needs on a continual basis, ensuring all requests are promptly filled. Performs as a team with other servers to provide Rocking guest service.
Performs all necessary side work. Polishing and rolling silverware, restocking items such as condiment’s, filling salt and pepper shakers, cutting lemons, etc.
Performs as a team with other Hard Rockers to produce a smoothly run function.
Performs bus person duties to clear tables when guests have completed their meals.
Performs all necessary tasks to service guests, such as taking and filling all food and drink orders whenever necessary, and maintaining the venue in a clean and neat manner.
Maintains all proper sanitation practices.
Maintains knowledge of property information, including memorabilia.
Completes assigned side work duties; use of supplies, cleaning and organizing assigned areas.
Returns any lost and found articles to supervisor immediately.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School diploma general education (GED).
Must be very detailed oriented.
Ability to function with minimum supervision and make effective decisions during the shift.
Must project a professional and positive image.
Must have a high level of energy
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal with people in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all Hard Rockers and guests.
Able to work all shifts to include weekends and holidays also work 6 day work weeks when required.
Training
