Banquet Manager jobs in Jamestown, NY
Banquet Manager plans, directs and coordinates banquets held within the establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules banquet staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Banquet Manager develops and maintains banquet accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Banquet Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Banquet Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Banquet Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Responsibilities
- Work closely with Banquet Operations Manager and Catering Manager to ensure all details of banquet function are clear.
- Supervise and assist in set up and break down of events.
- Coordinate function details with banquet and kitchen staff
- Schedule Banquet Porters to ensure event spaces are set to event layouts
- Train new hires to Chautauqua Harbor Hotel standards for serving and bartending
- Attend weekly banquet meetings
- Oversee proper serving, clearing and cleanup of functions
- Daily supervision of banquet staff
- Oversee function bars, inventory, usage and tips
Skills
- Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience
- Hands-on experience in cashier duties
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Patience and customer-oriented approach
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Responsible and trustworthy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $56,640.00 per year
