  • The Convention Banquet Server is primarily responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests and the set-up, service, and clearing of all assigned events functions according to Lakeside Hotel Casinos standards.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned:
    • Must be comfortable serving a variety of events that will vary in service style. 
    • Must be able to read a Banquet Event Order (BEO) and know how to complete a setup.
    • Sets tables in assigned area (or checks to see that they have been set) correctly and uniformly, using: clean, pressed linen (without rips, stains, or tears); clean unspotted silverware, clean china with no chips or cracks; clean unspotted glassware. Properly cleans and fills table complements (salt and pepper, sugar, breadbaskets, etc.)
    • Know the menu for each function served.
    • Keep work station neat and clean during service. Constantly patrols assigned station(s), serving food and beverages to guests as needed.
    • Receives guest orders for food or beverage that varies from the set menu.
    • Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items. 
    • Refers complaints on food to service to the Supervisor on duty.
    • Performs all opening and closing side duties assigned. Cleans function room and back of house areas during and after banquet functions.
    • Sets up, serves, and breaks down coffee breaks, receptions, and other special functions, as assigned.
    • Communicate with the Culinary team timely when food items are low. 
    • Maintain and understand compliance with federal, and state local regulations.  
    • Perform all job functions in a safe and responsible manner. 
    • Complete all company-required training timely.
    • Comply with all Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations and any other local, state, or federal guidelines.
    • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. 
    • Must be 18 years of age or older to serve alcoholic beverages.
