    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We are looking for an energetic and detail oriented Banquet Server to join our growing staff. In this role you will work alongside our current team members to cater events. Candidates should possess an efficient work ethic, a friendly and professional demeanor, and be comfortable being on their feet for several hours at a time. Service guests in banquet settings to include setup and break down of event space.

    While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist with table and meeting space prep before the event

    • Read and execute all BEO’s

    • Set up display stations and pop up bars to FQI standards

    • Assist with food/buffet preparation before and during the event

    • Ensure safe food handling guidelines are followed by self and team members

    • Arrange food on serving trays in an aesthetic manner

    • Deliver food from the kitchen and/or prep area to the meeting space in a timely manner

    • Serve appetizers and plated items to guests

    • Open wine, take drink orders

    • Serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

    • Always remain guest focused with the goal being 100% satisfaction and completion of all BEO’s

    • Assist with post-event clean up, inventory, food storage, and tear down

    • Work as a member of a team, communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient work ethic and overall guest satisfaction

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    No supervision required.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.     Education:

    • High School Diploma, Preferred

    • Current Mobile County Food Handlers Certificate

    Experience:

    • 1 to 2 years serving experience

    • Experience in banquets and catering events is a plus

    Skills:

    • A polite, engaging, and professional personality

    • Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence

    • Must be able to speak English to communicate with guests. Must be able to recognize situations which may involve guests that require immediate supervisory attention. Must know and use reasonable care for the safety and security of the guests.

    • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Equipment to Be Used:

    • Coffee/Tea Equipment

    • Reservation System

    • Knives for cutting fruits/garnishes

    • Micros POS or other point of sales system

    Physical & Mental Requirements:

    • Must be 21 years of age

    • Must be able to lift 50lbs;

    • Ability to bend, kneel, squat;

    • Ability to stand/walk for an 8 hour shift

    • Ensure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping are performed safely

    • Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

    • Ability to push and pull, lift and carry up to 50lbs

    • Ability to push and pull vacuum cleaners as well as wheeled carts weighing up to 50 pounds

    Work Environment:

    • High guest interaction

    • Fast paced; high volume

    • Subject to extreme weather conditions including high heat, rain, wind, etc.

    • Banquet Servers often work late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
