SUMMARY: Assists in coordination of all functions for the banquet department. Supervises all banquet team members, as well as borrowed or temporary staff. Ensures customer service standards are attained. Assists in coordinating banquet functions with kitchen, sales and clients. Responsible for assisting the Banquet Manager in ensuring that the banquet department meets the operational and administrative responsibilities of the department as well as the financial goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises the activities of all banquet staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Gold Country’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning; and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in banquets and/or catering departments preferred. Ability to perform job responsibilities with minimum supervision a must. Must show creativity in room set-up, an eye for detail, passion for banquet/guest service and a guest-first mentality. Knowledge of food safety governing and handling procedures required. Ability to lead banquet team through a positive disposition and excellent work ethic.
