    Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Must demonstrate ability to read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) when preparing to service a guest event or in setting up guest events.
    • Set food and beverage buffets and tables, including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware, as specified on BEO's. 
    • Assist with set up for indoor and outdoor stage, truss system, lighting equipment, and sound system for events. 
    • Help maintain and manage equipment such as lights, mixers, cables, truss, stage equipment, etc throughout events.
    • Become knowledgeable through on-site training for proper setup, operation and strike of all equipment, systems and technology for events. 
    • Assist in tear down of seating, barricades, and other event items. 
    • Assist the stage and production crew with the set up and tear down of equipment.
    • Responsible for following company’s policies in regard to alcoholic beverages.  
    • Must check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages. 
    • Must be able to carry a minimum of ten (10) meals on a tray.
    • Responsible for recording a client’s order and relaying the order to the kitchen. Example: Re-orders and special meal requests.
    • Responsible for observing guests to respond to any additional requests and determine when the meal has been completed.
    • Follow proper service procedures as outlined in the training manual pertaining to the foodservice outlet serving in. 
    • Assist other servers with all of the above to ensure total teamwork.
    • Complete all side work in a timely and satisfactory manner to ensure a clean, neat work area with adequate supply level. 
    • Greet guests in a friendly manner by smiling and maintaining an upbeat attitude.
    • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
    • Maintains constant awareness of services, promotions, and events offered by Shoshone-Bannock Gaming/Hotel and informs guests.
    • Cooperate and communicates with fellow Team Members in all departments and always strives for mutual respect.
    • Responsible for practicing safe work habits in the performance of the job. 
    • Duties and responsibilities will include other activities and areas as needed to carry out position functions.

     CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS

    • Must be able to submit supporting documents of education and training (High School Diploma, GED, Degree and Certificates) to support qualifications.

     EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • A high school diploma or GED preferred and must have a Food Handlers Card and become TIPS Certified within 90 days of employment (G6)

     SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Strong organizational skills required.

     Ability to apply commonsense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.   Must be able to communicate effectively in person, while on the phone, while using intercom/microphone, and in writing.

     PHYSICAL DEMANDS
