We're seeking a Billing Manager for Behavioral Health to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for for the operational functioning of the patient accounting and business processes as well as human, financial and physical resources. Responsible for overseeing the development, enhancement, and ongoing education of all direct reports. Successful fulfillment of responsibilities will promote and motivate staff and contribute toward a prompt and accurate attainment of department and Health System objectives.
This position is open to remote/work from home with strong preference for candidates residing within the UPH geographies of Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin.

Education:
Minimum of a four year college degree in accounting or financial related field.
Experience/Knowedge, Skills, Abilities:
· Four years management experience in hospital or physician office.
· Strong computer system skills required.
· Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
· Demonstrated understanding of hospital billing, follow-up, collections, cash application and related patient accounting processes to assure compliance with regulatory and contractual agreements.
· Demonstrated understanding of patient registration and billing practices for hospitals.
· Knowledge of business management, theory and practices relating to financial management and internal controls.
· Knowledge of managed care and third party reimbursement principles.
· Evidence of high ethical standards and moral character, a strong work ethic, a high
energy level, demonstrated creativity, and team playing.
· A stable work history, a self-esteem necessary to lead and work through conflict
resolution, a willingness to engage in “hands-on” activities as appropriate.
· Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
