Volunteer Behavioral Health is now seeking a Homeless Case Manager.
Candidate filling this position will be required to provide services for Lawrence, Maury, and Giles County.
Starting pay:38K, can go up based on experience.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience working with veterans, their families and/or homeless populations is preferable and having veteran status is preferred. Experience in case management and direct community-based field work is preferred.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include conducting community-based services to veterans and their families, to veteran organizations and service providers to assist with identifying veterans and families in need of services and assisting them with accessing resources. Extensive work in the community, working directly with the Outreach Coordinator and with landlords, housing organizations and others are responsibilities. Adherence to specific grant requirements, completing screenings and any documentation as required by the Veterans Administration, grant and agency in timeframes designated and with accuracy and professionalism is required. Duties include assisting with local resource development and direct service to veterans and families. This includes locating and accessing services on behalf of veterans and families. Reducing homelessness or risk of homelessness among veterans and families is the primary goal of the program and all duties and responsibilities of the employee revolve around meeting this goal per grant requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
Knowledge of issues facing veterans and their families and homelessness is required. Knowledge of community resources and an ability to work within communities to develop new resources that assist veterans and their families, excellent communication skills, writing skills and an ability to speak in public is necessary in completing duties of this position. Ability to work with others as a team, and complete tasks in an independent manner as well as work closely with external customers such as the Veterans Administration is required.
