Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Director of Risk Management (Performance Improvement) has broad responsibility to ensure the hospital’s compliance at all times with all Joint Commission, AHCA and other regulatory agencies standards and requirements. The Director of Risk Management is responsible for staff training and education on the hospital’s performance initiatives and measures including outcomes measurement and reporting. This individual is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure.

    Qualifications:
    Job Requirements:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other mental health related program.
    • Five (5) years of experience in quality and risk management/improving organizational performance within an acute medical or psychiatric treatment setting. Three (3) years’ management experience preferred.
    • Preferred current Registered Nurse License by Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Florida or a licensed mental health professional.
    • Knowledge of hospital operations, risk identification, assessment and reduction and claims management. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
