Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The selected candidate will be responsible for helping adolescents acquire functional health knowledge and strengthening attitudes, beliefs, and practice skills needed to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors throughout their lives. The Behavioral Health Educator will be responsible for developing a planned progression of developmentally appropriate lessons or learning experiences that lead to achieving behavioral health objectives. They will ensure continuity between lessons or learning experiences that clearly reinforce the adoption and maintenance of specific behavioral health-enhancing behaviors.

    The Behavioral Health Educator will also be responsible for developing content or materials that correspond with the sequence of learning events and help teachers and students meet the learning objectives. The Behavioral Health Educator will use assessment strategies to determine if students have achieved the desired learning. They will also be responsible for developing community outreach to raise awareness of mental health in conjunction with the school environment. The ideal candidate will have a CPR Certification, an Associates Degree in a related field, and previous experience working with adolescents.
