Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     • Serves as the agency's Privacy Officer and is responsible for ensuring procedures, processes and protocols related to HIM comply with all governing regulations and requirements.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain Center-wide policies and procedures for the management of client health information in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
    • Oversees the organization and maintenance of all client records, ensuring proper documentation, confidentiality, and accessibility.
    • Implements effective record-keeping and tracking systems to ensure efficient retrieval and management of records and requests.
    • Collaborate with community agencies and other departments to address records-related concerns.

    Who are we looking for?

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
    • Certified Health Information Management Professional (CHIM), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in health information management, and at least one year in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations related to medical records management and confidentiality and privacy laws. Strong understanding of the requirements and best practices for healthcare documentation.
