Behavioral Health Director jobs in Gastonia, NC

Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Oversight of all North Carolina programming for administrative and clinical functions - audits, quality improvement program, clinical programming, programmatic start up and development, property management, financial solvency, and integrity.

    Oversight of agency P & P development, correction, implementation, enforcement, and training.

    Program development and business planning for all administrative and clinical services.

    Oversight and development of agenda for Business Management Team, participation in National Leadership Team, attendance in Local Leadership Teams.

    Development and/or oversight of Strategic Plan, Quality Improvement Work Plan, Succession Plan, outcomes reports, and implementation of corrective actions for improvement.

    Oversight of marketing, difficult cases requiring management involvement, agency liaison for public schools, DJJ, DSS, MCO, ASO's, and multisystem team development.

    Oversight of regulations, standards, accreditation, policy, procedure compliance of overall program and quality assurance reporting to outside agencies.

    Oversight and coordination of agency internal investigations for both personnel and consumer allegations.

    Oversight of agency-wide training program, quality improvement program, P & P updates and development, process updates and development, in collaboration with the QI Director.

    Oversight of property management, fleet management, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.

    Supervise cost findings, CARF, and audits.

    Oversight and decision for hiring, terminations, corrective actions, personnel actions, and administrative supervisions.

    Direct supervision of the QI Director, Clinical Director, Human Resources Director, Administrative Director, Day Treatment Director, Residential Director, and lead QP's.

    Conduct annual performance evaluations for all positions and establish projects and areas of improvement or further development.

    Coordinate with lead therapists and clinical director on intakes, discharge decisions, significant clinical issues, required documentation, and deficiencies in programming.

    Serve as agency infection control nurse (if qualified) and oversight of medication programming.

    RN, BSN, MSN preferred but not required.

    Must have 5 years experience in administrative or quality improvement functions within the mental health field.
