Behavioral Health Director jobs in Springfield, MO

Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, BEHAVIORAL CRISIS CENTERSpringfield, Missouri$5,000 Sign on bonus

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Function as the overall manager of program lines at the Behavioral Crisis Center, including a Rapid Access Unit, Acute Crisis Stabilization Unit, Social Detox Unit, and Recovery Residential Program.

    • Provide clinical consultation and supervisory backup as needed.
    • Monitor billing and financial reports to ensure financial goals are being met.
    • Additional management, supervisory and clinical duties
    • Function as an active member of the administrative team.
    • Participate, as directed, in the development of program budgets.
    • Participate in public relations and educational activities and "targeted consultation."
    • Function as a senior clinical and management staff member in providing general clinical consultation and supervisory backup to staff.
    • Participate in professional development activities as assigned.
    • Perform additional management and clinical duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or other related Human Service field;

    • Professional license (or license eligibility with relevant experience)

    • Management, supervisory and clinical skills, especially as demonstrated by previous experience and a working knowledge of community-based services to adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses.
