Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Summary:
    The Director of Adult Acute Behavioral Health, reflects the purpose and values of The Medical Center, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
    Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, assumes the responsibility for overall operations of the Behavioral Health Unit.
    Develops, implements, and promotes strategies for patient care delivery in a therapeutic milieu.
    Collaborates with medical leadership and hospital departments to meet organizational performance targets, ensure a professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient satisfaction and care for the behavioral health population.
    Effectively manages the resources of the department and meets financial targets.
    Models effective leadership behaviors to achieve organizational outcomes.
    Education/Requirements:
    Complies with legal, hospital and departmental policies, procedures and position requirements.
    Minimum 5 years clinical experience as a registered nurse, social worker or licensed counselor.
    Minimum 5 years leadership experience.
    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, Master’s Degree preferred.
    Must obtain the following certifications within 90 days of hire; CPR and Handle with Care.
    Additional Info:
    Person will be over an Adult 19 bed unit with 23 FTE's.
    The facility is offering a range between 83K-133K and offers a full benefit package and a relocation/sign-on.
