Job Summary:

Serves hotel guests by performing the following duties:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Escorts incoming hotel guests to rooms, assists with hand luggage, and offers information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest, and entertainment attractions.
• Inspects guest's room to ensure furnishings are in order and supplies are adequate.
• Explains features of room such as operation of radio, television, and night-lock, and how to place telephone calls.
• Pages guests in lobby, dining room, or other parts of hotel.
• Delivers messages and runs errands.
• Drives guest to and from airport, may drive guest to other locations close to hotel.
• Delivers room service orders.
• Picks up articles for laundry and valet service.
• Calls taxi for guests.
• Keeps record of calls for service.
• Delivers packages, suitcases, trunks, and sets up sample rooms.
• Cleans lobby (ashtrays, dry mop, trash, etc.).
• Cleans and vacuums inside of vans a minimum of once a day.
• Assists in the picking up of room service trays from the halls around the property.
• Proper uniform, name tag worn at all times.
• Assists with group tour luggage requirements.
• Associate will understand the financial goals of their department and hotel.

• When approached with a problem, associate will empower himself/herself at all times to assist customer in resolving the problem.
• Interacts with internal and external customers in a positive, professional and accommodating manner.
• Associate will become a resident expert on in-house information along with local information to improve the guest service experience.
• Complies with the ‘Clean as You Go’ work policy and daily sanitation projects and checklists.
• Proper uniform, name tag worn at all times.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment.
• Must possess the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner and exhibit good judgment.
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to convey information and ideas through writing, telephone and personal meeting situations; engaging the audience and helping them understand and retain the message.
• Must poses a passion to serve.
• Skilled at establishing effective relationships with customers and internal partners; requires effective reading, writing and oral comprehension.
• Service orientation. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation available.
• Must have an outgoing personality, be well organized, and detail oriented.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Must have a good work ethic, be honest and work well with others.
• Must have good cash handling skills, able to make change, manage cash drawer.

Education and Experience:

• Prior customer service experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment.
• Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far.
• Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English.
• Must be able to bend, stretch arms overhead and lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $7.75 per hour
