Benefits Director oversees the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are chosen to be equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and to be cost effective. Being a Benefits Director establishes practices for evaluating existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Makes high-level decisions to modify existing benefits programs or institute new ones. Additionally, Benefits Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to top management. The Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     JOB SUMMARY

    Directs the organization's compensation and benefits department's policies, objectives, and initiatives. Oversees the development and administration of all compensation and benefits programs designed to attract and retain employees. Creates policies and initiatives to ensure compensation and benefits programs follow all legal and organizational rules and guidelines. Provides consultation on executive compensation matters to senior executives and human resources.

    Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting the Everus 4EVER Strategy.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • An in-depth knowledge of all functional areas of human resources at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience; and
    • 10 years’ related experience in human resources.
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
    • Manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures.
    • Responsible for the analysis and administration of executive compensation programs, annual and long-term incentive programs, and deferred compensation plans.
    • Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis.
    • Directs the salary survey process and evaluates market data for executive positions.
    • Manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers.
    • Monitors trends and provides recommendations for improvements.
    • Oversees the preparation of compensation data for proxy disclosure and compensation committee meetings.
    • Assists executive directly or engages/manages outside consultants with tax matters related to compensation.
    • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.

    • Salary range $164,720 to $205,900.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
    • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.
    • Human Resources experience in a publicly traded company.
       
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
    • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or Senior Professional Human Resource designation (SPHR); or must be able to obtain certification within one year of attaining this position.
    • May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
    • Requires minimal travel (up to 10%) including in-state and out-of-state by car and/or plane with overnight stays.
    • This position is required to be on-site at the Everus corporate office Bismarck location.
    • Background check, MVR and drug screen may be required.
