Benefits Director oversees the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are chosen to be equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and to be cost effective. Being a Benefits Director establishes practices for evaluating existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Makes high-level decisions to modify existing benefits programs or institute new ones. Additionally, Benefits Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to top management. The Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary

    We are looking for an individual who is highly organized, self-sufficient, able to work independently with a thorough approach to their duties. Candidates should be able to assist management, all clients, and insurance companies, by providing courteous and professional assistance via phone, mail, and e-mail, handling office tasks, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace.

    You will be responsible for Social Security award letters, processing, discovery, validation, recovery, and adjustments of claims. Along with the above, you will be providing the client’s insurance company with the SSA award documentation. Throughout the process you will work closely with the staff from other departments on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction.

    Overpayment Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Calling and obtaining award letters from SSA
    • Explaining the award letter to clients once obtained from SSA
    • Prepares award summary for the insurance company
    • Process Overpayment funds via Electronic Funds Transfer

    Overpayment Recovery Unit Requirements:

    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent with math/accounting
    • Excellent computer skills, including typing and data entry.
    • Time management, organizational skills, and extreme attention to detail.
    • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
    • Understanding of how to handle time sensitive and confidential information.
    • Ability to work independently as well as contributing to a team environment.
