Benefits Director oversees the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are chosen to be equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and to be cost effective. Being a Benefits Director establishes practices for evaluating existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Makes high-level decisions to modify existing benefits programs or institute new ones. Additionally, Benefits Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to top management. The Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • Responsibilities

    • To ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant, employee, and community needs
    • To ensure the Center is timely and accurate in responding to the administrative needs of the Center.
    • To establish and maintain a safe, healthy, learning environment for children and employees
    • To advance children's physical and intellectual competence by developing programs
    • To develop programs that will support children's social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
    • To develop programs and opportunities to establish positive and productive relationships with families and external customers
    • To be responsive to the Samuel and Lydia Clark Foundation Board of Directors and Business Manager

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree, including 12 credits or in addition 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field; one year of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home or another early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related work.
    • New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential; one year of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home, or another early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or related field or work.
    • An Associate Degree in Early Childhood or related field, with a plan of study leading to a Bachelor's degree or a New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential; two years of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home, or another early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or related field or work.
    • A Child Development Associate Credential or another Office-recognized credential, with a plan of study leading to a Bachelor's degree or a New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential; two years of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home, or another early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or related field or work.
