Benefits Manager develops, implements, administers, and maintains benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective. Being a Benefits Manager develops benefits communications and counsels employees on benefits related issues. Evaluates existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Additionally, Benefits Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to director. The Benefits Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Benefits Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    (Include, but not limited to)

    • Must have knowledge of the requirements of erecting and maintaining traffic control signs and other devices as prescribed in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
    • Must keep equipment and materials neat, clean, and orderly at all times on the projects.
    • Must be able to carry out detailed instructions, setting up and removing traffic control devices, but also must be able to use good judgement in decision making and be able to work without direct supervision.
    • Must maintain a good attitude and be polite at all times to motorists.
    • Must have the ability to work safely in traffic situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    • Flagger/Traffic Control Training Certificate (Required)
    • Driving License (Preferred).

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
    • Must be able to sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.
    • Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.
    • Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
