Benefits Manager develops, implements, administers, and maintains benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective. Being a Benefits Manager develops benefits communications and counsels employees on benefits related issues. Evaluates existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Additionally, Benefits Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to director. The Benefits Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Benefits Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Oversee and manage all functions of the parts department, including supervising department employees, managing parts inventory, and performing all tasks within the department when needed
    • Opportunity for growth for the right person
    • Talk with customers & Service Techs in person & on the phone to determine what part they need for their equipment (forklifts of any brand & other material handling equipment). Ask questions and request photos of the piece to make sure you have a clear understanding of which part they need
    • Identify the make/model number of the equipment that needs service
    • Reference the Parts Manual and identify the correct part number
    • Research which vendor will have a new or aftermarket part available and assess pricing and shipping times
    • Order the part and correctly document all information in our EBMS software to ensure the right part is billed to the correct work order
    • Accurately invoice customers directly from our accounting/inventory system
    • Receive, inventory, and organize the shipments of parts


    Sam’s Mechanical Service provides rentals, sales, and service for forklifts of any brand & other material handling equipment to companies in Lancaster and the surrounding counties. We are growing and looking to hire a full-time Parts Manager to work with our customers & Service Techs to accurately identify and quickly order the parts needed to keep their equipment up and running.

    Our Ideal Parts Manager will be:

    • Experienced: Background working in the equipment, automotive, trucking, or similar industry. We are willing to provide specific training on working with parts from forklifts and related equipment. Supervisory experience is a plus
    • Mechanical: Able to understand how the equipment works and identify the needed part based on customer descriptions & photos
    • Loves Numbers: We deal with many numbers in this industry, and tracking numbers accurately is key to success.
    • Detailed: Can manage a complex multi-step process of collecting information, identifying part numbers, assessing the availability of parts, placing orders, generating sales orders, communicating shipping dates, etc.
    • Team Player: Humble enough to admit mistakes. Drive to do a great job. Great people skills.
    • Relational: Able to build great rapport with customers, vendors, and crew. Must have good phone skills.
    • Calm: Things can get hectic when a breakdown disrupts a customer’s workflow, creating a high sense of urgency. Being calm and patient while providing service is a critical skill.
    • Flexible: Able to change activities to accommodate the needs of phone and walk-in customers. Does what it takes to get the customer’s equipment back up and running.
    • Investigative: Asks excellent questions to get to the heart of what the customer needs. Able to research and get the best possible price.
    • Computer Skills: Must learn software, do research on the internet, and communicate via email.
